Brand Elmina talks to David Ekow Duron of Lemon Beach Resort the new kid on the block in the line of hotels in Elmina.

What influenced you to invest in Elmina and not anywhere else in the world or Ghana?

My first tour around Ghana happened 8 years ago and when I came to Elmina I fell in love with the town immediately because of the history, people and the atmosphere.

How would you describe your hotel?

Lemon Beach Resort will be the fusion of 2 different ages. Visitors can stay in the typical African houses made the traditional way with the modern interior or in the modern design European style apartments. Our big Africa map shaped swimming pool, beach and the restaurant will be ready to serve not only the resort’s guests but everyone who wants to relax and enjoy great #African and European food and drinks.

From the many hotels dotted around Elmina, what strength are you coming in with?

Our main focus will be on customers satisfaction. Fast serving always with the smile, fresh food, variety of international and local drinks and tap beer because beer is the heritage of the country I am coming from. Czech republic is the country where the beer was invented and Czechs are the biggest consumers of beer per head in the world.

What’s the new thing you are bringing into the already saturated hotel industry in Elmina?

We will use the latest digital technology for the kitchen and serving the customers which will reduce the waiting time significantly.

What’s your expectation of the tourism industry in Ghana?

Tourism in Ghana is growing fast. Thanks to the new Terminal 3 at the Kotoka International Airport the tourism industry will grow even faster. Ghana ranks as the 44th−most stable country in the world and 4th in Africa, it is safe beautiful and peaceful place which I would like to introduce to the people of my country.
